Smash hit medical drama “Doctor Cha” is wrapping up as its conclusion draws nearer. Since its release, the work received great response from the public.

However, not all feedback was great as the series has been also criticized by many viewers around the world. In particular, its latest episode once again got viewers frustrated. Here’s what happened.

‘Doctor Cha’ Receives Flak With Brand New Episode

JTBC’s “Doctor Cha” is wrapping up as it approaches its final week of broadcast.

Uhm Jung Hwa, along with the cast ensemble of the medical series, has graced the small screen with their amazing chemistry and performances which couple up the work’s clever premise.

The drama follows the life of a homemaker who one day decides to pursue her medical career after 20 years.

For seven long weeks, “Doctor Cha” enjoyed the public’s great responses. It also scored high ratings that bested “Itaewon Class” in the history of K-Drama.

However, not all reviews were positive as the drama has been embroiled in various controversies since its release. In fact, its latest episode got fans frustrated once again.

In episode 14, Cha Jung Suk, played by Uhm Jung Hwa, coughed up blood, which indicates an ominous ending for the work. In K-Dramas, this is seen as a sign that the character is likely to die in the finale.

This enrages viewers especially when the female lead has finally accepted the fate of being cheated on by her husband. Fans claim that Cha Jung Suk has suffered so much and a “major death” would be the downfall of the box office hit.

“I think I’ll drop this drama before it even ends. I don’t see the point of taking the main character out especially in its final week,” one fan said.

However, some viewers still hope for a happy ending. With only two episodes left, the public continued to root for Cha Jung Suk who had endured a painful illness and broken heart.

‘Doctor Cha’ Sees Rating Rise As It Heads Into Finale

Despite the bad feedback from the public, “Doctor Cha” episode 14 still saw a positive light after its broadcast.

The medical drama’s antepenultimate episode received a high score of 18.2% which allowed the work to recover from its unprecedented drop with the previous episode’s 14.4% rating.

In particular, it also became the second highest rating after episode 12’s 18.5%. Even more so, “Doctor Cha” remains the No. 1 weekend drama among cable channels, beating “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938.”
